Historic Scotland have sent an advisory report to Thurso Heritage Society and have confirmed that we can apply for an Ancient Monuments Grant to carry out urgently needed works as recommended in the report. We have to engage an architect skilled in the care of ancient monuments, to prepare a detailed restoration package of the works required together with an application for Ancient monuments Grant.
We can now apply for other funding sources as Historic Scotland help will only be partial, however without this offer of support from them we could not proceed. We are at last in a position to do so. Thurso Heritage Society will also be fund raising locally as a certain proportion of the funding will have to be raised by them.
